Happy summer!

hello everybody-
happy summer! its hot as hell outside. so in light of that, and because we dont have a show for another couple of weeks (lee’s liquor lounge), here are my favorite “summer” songs:

1.constructive summer, the hold steady
“me and my friends are like the drums on “lust for life….we’re gonna build something this summer”‘ love that lyric.

2. banned from the back porch, saves the day
“i sip down warm ginger ale” i can see the wet patio floor. love it.

3. bar lights, whiskeytown
“the bar lights and the liquor….i got 5 more dollars, drink another, you’ll be fine.” perfect.

4.american girl, tom petty
no real explanation needed. great summer tune.

5. summer skin, death cab for cutie
plans is by far my favorite dcfc record. and the bass groove on this track is amazing. not to mention the lyrics…
“squeaky swings and tall grass, the longest shadows ever cast” sounds like summer to me.

remember now, stay hydrated, dont drink too much beer, and you cant come in the house until you are all dry…..i will go grab you a towel.
